Radio Club Participate in Exercise Noble SkywaveThe Cadet Amateur Radio Club and their US Army MARS Station - AAM2P participated in Exercise Noble Skywave; a Canadian Armed Forces hosted international military HF radio competition. Operating from their radio room in Bartlett Hall, Cadet Jonathan Morton ’18, CPT(P) Sherburne (D/EECS), CPT(P) Shaha (D/EECS), MAJ Lebiednik (ACI), and LTC Hamilton (ACI), made 68 total HF radio contacts, of which 55 were unique, throughout Canada, the UK, and the US. Stacking up against 85 other teams, West Point placed 19th overall. They placed 18th out of 86 teams for total single-sideband voice points and 15th out of 45 teams for points made using 2G Automatic Link Establishment (ALE). The exercise allowed cadets and faculty to communicate with our NATO/FVEY military allies and learn how to interface with their HF radio systems. More information on the competition can be found at https://cmcen.ca/exns/.
