LTC Eslinger Serves as Judge & Speaker at ABRCMS

LTC Eslinger Serves as Judge and Speaker at ABRCMS 2017 LTC Eslinger (D/CLS) was invited to serve as a Judge and Speaker at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) 2017. This event is one of the largest gatherings of underrepresented minorities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. During the four-day conference, over 1,900 students presented posters and oral presentations spanning twelve disciplines. LTC Eslinger, with a doctorate in cancer biology, was selected to evaluate three poster sessions and one oral presentation session where students presented a variety of topics related to molecular work and public health. A secondary goal of ABRCMS is to mentor students with strategies and alternative pathways in STEM. LTC Eslinger spoke to students as part of “STEM Career Choices Gateway to the Future: Conversations with Scientists”. She discussed her personal experiences with government service, undergraduate teaching, military experiences, and service at the Academy. LTC Eslinger and the ABRCMS team from over 350 colleges and universities provided essential mentorship for future STEM professionals.
