Cadets Gavin Felch and Evan Terkanian, currently on semester abroad in Tajikistan, conducted an excursion with the American Councils Group to visit Pamir mountain Range. In Farsi, Pamir translates as ‘the Roof of the world,” noting that when you look at the terrain from the ground level, it seems as if the mountains touch the sky. Pamir Highway is the highest mountain route in the world. While on the visit, the cadets gained not only an appreciation for the terrain, but enjoyed the natural hospitality of Pamir people and learned about different dialects spoken in the area.
