Dr. Mansour from the Dean’s International Intellectual Development Office and Department of Foreign Languages represented West Point at a ceremony in Wroclaw, Poland, during which the commandant of Kosciuszko Military University of Land Forces (MULF), BG Darius Skorupka, signed agreements to exchange Cadets and strengthen cooperation in research with USMA faculty. Directly following the signing, the agreements were announced at MULFs Convocation to the applause of about a thousand Cadets, dozens of representatives of the Polish government, NATO and other military academies, including Saint-Cyr in France, Baltic Defense University in Estonia, and Austria’s Theresian Military Academy. While on the visit, Dr. Mansour observed classes, visited with academic department heads and spoke with MULF faculty about military and academic training options for US and Polish exchange cadets. MULF will send two cadets to USMA next semester, and officer faculty members will visit USMA this month to plan cadet exchanges and leader development and faculty research opportunities. Over the last two summers, USMA Cadets have trained at MULF’s “Military Erasmus” sessions during trips arranged by faculty of the Defense and Strategic Studies program.
