On May 4th, the Native American Heritage Forum (NAHF) will host their annual event at the Trophy Point amphitheater. It is designed to serve as a recruiting tool by demonstrating to prospective Native American and other minority cadets that West Point is an inclusive environment where all races and ethnicities are welcome and celebrated. Although this is predominantly a Native American event, the powwow is a celebration of diversity for all. American Indians have participated with distinction in the United States Military for more than 200 years. This powwow celebrates their contributions to the nation and portrays West Point as a place where Native Americans are supported while transitioning from civilian to cadet life and beyond.
