Cadets and faculty from the Management program traveled to Citi Field for a day with the NY Mets. The trip focused on the various management functions of a professional sports team, and included several sessions with executives and employees representing a spectrum of specialties with the organization. The cadets also received a facility tour to view and discuss the stadium's operations and systems, including engineering, security, inventory management, maintenance, ticketing, marketing, public and media relations, radio and TV broadcasting, merchandising, human resource management, vending, food prep, and others. They learned a lot about the business side of professional sports, and gained an opportunity to see management theory in action in an organization many fans never think of as a business.
