Excel Scholars Program Fireside Chat: Angelina Darrisaw

Excel Scholar cadets and faculty attended a Fireside Chat with guest speaker was Angelina Darrisaw, Founder and CEO of C-Suite Executive Coach. Ms. Darrisaw is also a Digital Coach for minority businesses at Google. Darrisaw centered her chat on the significance of minority presence in majority-white spaces, the concept of “being the only one in the room.” She shared her background growing up in a low-income family and her journey to success inspired by the strong work ethic her mother displayed. Darrisaw shared that she embraces many challenges from being the only minority in the room in many professional settings. Further, she shared the importance of hard work and determination in any career path. In her rise to success, Angelina desires to create access to young people of color in the areas of personal leadership and management success.
