Cadets and faculty in the Department of English and Philosophy attended the annual Mid-Hudson Philosophy Society (MHPS) conference. The MHPS is a consortium of five schools, West Point, Vassar, Bard, Marist, and SUNY New Paltz. Each year one of the schools hosts the conference and invites philosophy majors to present papers. This year, Bard hosted the conference. The keynote speaker was distinguished philosopher Philip Kitcher. Cadet Logan Gorsuch, a double major in English and Philosophy, presented a paper entitled “Quinean Pragmatic Possible Worlds.” It was well received and generated good discussion.
