Army West Point men's basketball saw firstie Mac Hoffman named to the 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team. Hoffman has been recognized as one of the nation's top student-athletes for his combined performance athletically and his efforts in the classroom. He and six others make up the NCAA Division I District 1 Team. The Pleasanton, CA native boasts a 3.71 cumulative grade point average and is set to graduate in May with a degree in Systems Engineering. Hoffman has started every game this season, averaging 21.4 minutes. He is second on the team with a field goal percentage of .563 and is recording 6.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest. In his firstie campaign alone, Hoffman has notched six double-digit scoring nights, including a career-best 20 points in an outing against Holy Cross on Jan. 18. He finished 9-of-10 from the floor and 2-for-4 from the free throw line. He also registered three double-figure rebounding nights with a career-high 12 coming in a victory over Binghamton on Dec. 21.
