Fly Fishing Attends World's Largest Expo

The Fly fishing club traveled to Somerset, NJ to attend the largest fly fishing expo in the world. Cadets had the opportunity to meet with professional guides, fly tiers, industry celebrities and global retailers. Most importantly, each cadet also had the opportunity to interact with the thousands of civilians who traveled from around the country to attend the expo. Attending the event in Uniform pushed each cadet into countless conversations with aspiring cadet candidates, graduates dating back to the 1950's, veterans and appreciative, inquiring citizens. These interactions actively broadcast the story of West Point to hundreds of civilians from around the country. Cadets grew as leaders by rising to the opportunity to tell their own story and answer questions about the USMA mission. The club leveraged the event to network and establish new partnerships with other organizations in the New York City metro area, which will likely lead to future broadening engagements.
