The West Point Climbing team competed at Rock Climb Fairfield (Connecticut) in the first collegiate climbing competition of the year. Along with West Point, over 10 schools competed in the competition to include RIT, UCONN and Yale. Members of the climbing team competed in speed climbing, bouldering, and top roping. This first chance to employ the long hours of practice for eight team members. They performed well, had many individual standout performances, and 26 various divisions placements in the top 20. Most notably, in her first competition Morgan Hall ’20, placed 8th in the women’s bouldering division. Kwak ’17, placed 9th in women’s top rope and 2nd in women’s speed climbing. Boggs ’17, and Mueller ’18, placed 5th and 8th in men’s top rope respectively. Lastly, Mueller, Hazen ’17 and Reape ’17, took 3rd, 6th and 9th in men’s speed respectively.
