Madison Hovren Lands Sixth Player of the Week Nod

Yearling Madison Hovren was honored as Patriot League Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 25.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in a pair of Army wins last week. The Patriot League Player of the Week recognition is the sixth this season for Hovren, and is also the sixth of her career. Hovren netted 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds in helping the Black Knights to a 63-55 win over Lafayette on Feb. 1. She shot 8-of-12 from the field versus the Leopards and added three steals on the defensive side. The Spokane, WA native followed up her performance against Lafayette with game highs of 28 points and 15 rebounds in Army's 67-48 victory over Loyola on Feb. 4. Hovren shot 10-of-12 from the foul line in the game and contributed nine points and six rebounds in the third quarter alone to help the Cadets outscore the Greyhounds, 24-14, in the period. Read More
