Powerlifting Success at the Northeast Championships

Army Powerlifting traveled to Latham, NY for the Northeast Powerlifting Championships. This served as an opportunity for all new members to qualify for the USAPL Collegiate Nationals and for all veteran members to help the new members. The meet was a huge success, resulting in all new members successfully qualifying for nationals. Furthermore, no members missed any more than one lift in any of their attempts. This indicates that not only were the lifters capable of qualifying for nationals, but they also had an accurate mental conception of their strength, a crucial advantage in the sport of powerlifting. The Powerlifting team worked diligently all of last semester to qualify for nationals following coach Jaffe’s leadership closely. Learning a lot of the science behind the sport to include mobility, nutrition, programming, and biomechanics. 1st Place Medalists: Cadets Yoon, Mcdonough, Voll, Linden, Hsu and Degori. 2nd Place Medalists: Cadets Roll, Chung, Sweeney and Roseborough.
