Cadets Goode ’17, Trate ’17, and Morton ’18 from the Cadet Amateur Radio Club W2KGY, installed two new repeaters at the repeater site. These repeaters represent the latest in technology on the market today; allowing amateur radio operators to transmit both data and voice. The Yaesu System Fusion DR-1X repeaters, purchased with DCA funding, will ensure that Cadets are exposed to the best innovation in digital radio technology. CPT(P) Sherburne, KF4WZB provided instruction to the cadets on how to test and verify the proper operation of the repeaters using a spectrum analyzer and RF power meter. Cadets, faculty, and local amateur radio operators, including one as far away as Poughkeepsie, are now using the repeaters.
