The Mechanical Engineer Capstone Design course, ME496, consists of over 20 design teams. One team, the Magnetic Resonance Thermometry team, traveled to Stanford University to conduct experiments at the Lucas Center for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The team is funded by the Air Force Research lab, and the cadets are involved in first-of-their kind experiments measuring the temperature field inside a scaled version that replicates key features of a modern gas turbine vane or blade.
