The Army Alpine Ski Team participated in the first-ever race competition held at the newly activated National Winter Activity Center (NWAC) in Vernon, NJ. The Army men's shredders competing in a full conference field, finishing 3rd Saturday and 2nd Sunday. Both races were Giant Slalom (GS) events. The women were only able to field one athlete, Harvey ’20. Cadet Harvey managed respectable 11th and 15th finishes as an individual racer. The Army Freestyle team did not have competitive events, but Cadets D'agosataro ’20 and McCarthy ’20 accrued some needed practice mileage over at neighboring Mountain Creek resort. Individually in men's GS, Cadet Walters ’20 finished 7th and 5th, Captain Riley ’17 6th and 10th respectively, and Yale Flanagan 6th. Cadets Whitlow ’20, Mueser ’19 and Young ’19 had top 20 finishes. Other racers competing as Army Shredders included cadets Felch ’19, Argueta ’20 and Carter ’20.
