Foster to Receive Ralph DiLullo Award

Baseball coach Jim FosterNewly hired Army West Point baseball coach Jim Foster will be recognized by the New York Professional Baseball Hot Stove League on January 27. Foster earned the organization's Ralph DiLullo Award, which is given out annually to one collegiate coach for their significant contributions to college baseball. "Jim is a well deserving recipient of our Ralph DiLullo Award," the organization's secretary treasurer Billy Blitzer said. "He has helped our professional scouts find different talents throughout the years, which has been very beneficial in growing the game of baseball." Foster became Army's 18th head coach in program history on June 23. Prior to that he served as the associate head coach at Boston College. Last season alone the Eagles advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals, falling one game shy of the College World Series. In addition, Foster mentored Justin Dunn during his tenure in Chestnut Hill, MA, who was drafted 19th overall by the New York Mets in the 2016 MLB First-Year Players Draft. That selection was tied for the highest Eagles' pitcher ever taken in program history. Dunn finished last year with an ERA of 2.06, which was fourth on BC's single-season record list. Read More
