Sophomore Madison Hovren was honored as Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week after scoring 20 points in Army's 90-48 win over Mercy College on Dec. 17. The AAA Athlete of the Week nod is the second this season for Hovren, and is also the second of her career. Hovren led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting and 4-of-4 free-throw shooting in the Mercy game, while adding seven rebounds and two steals. A three-time Patriot League Player of the Week selection so far this season, Hovren leads the league in scoring (19.0 points per game) and field goal percentage (.510) and ranks second with 9.9 rebounds per game. Hovren has six double-doubles this year, with all six coming consecutively from Nov. 26 to Dec. 11. She has also scored in double figures during all 11 games, including a career-high 23 points against Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 28. Read More
