Alpha Kappa Delta Induction Ceremony

Sociology hosted Professor Randall Collins, one of the preeminent scholars in the field of sociology, as presider over the annual honors society induction ceremony. The Alpha Kappa Delta society honors those sociology students who maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher in sociology programs. Cadet Samantha Bradley and Captain Jessica Dawson were both inducted. Professor Randall Collins spoke after the ceremony on the Sociology of Combat from a micro interactionist perspective, drawing heavily on evidence which suggests that violence is both difficult to execute for most individuals but that there are also certain pathways that enable people to engage in violent activities. This is contrary to folk perceptions that violence is somehow easy for most people to engage in.
