The civil engineering club hosted a luncheon with forensic engineers Jaret Lynch and John Cocca from Wiss, Janey, Elstner & Associates. The speakers provided a brief introduction to forensic engineering and then provided several recent case-studies. The case studies included identified issues both during construction and building occupancy, and in several cases resulted in a collapse. They discussed their investigations and ultimately what caused each problem, and then they discussed how to repair the problems if applicable. Approximately 45 cadets and faculty attended this event.
