Civil and Mechanical Engineering students emplaced footings for Bannerman Bridge on Pollepel Island. Civil engineering majors emplaced six concrete footings, as part of their capstone design project. The project involves three teams that will each design a pedestrian bridge to span a 40-foot-wide ravine near the Bannerman residence on Pollepel Island. The teams developed and emplaced common footings for the bridge, and will brief their design options to the Bannerman Castle Trust, and organization that manages restoration efforts on the island, in early December. The Bannerman Castle Trust will select the design they like the best, and then all three teams will come together to build it during the spring of 2017.
