Army Debate at Bard College

The Army debate team travelled to Bard College to participate in a public debate in front of an audience of more than 100 people. Army debaters argued that “the rapid rise of ‘safe space’ rhetoric on college campuses does more harm than good.” Initial surveys of the crowd indicated that they sided with the notion that safe spaces were “good”; however, Army debaters managed to convince the majority of the audience that safe spaces lead to censorship and unnecessary curbs on free speech.
