Aviation Training in Montgomery

The Cadet Flying Team was able to conduct training at Orange County Airport (KMGJ) in Montgomery, NY. Assistant CIC, Kurt Klinkmueller, passed a check ride permitting him to fly as pilot-in-command of the Tecnam Eaglet Light Sport Aircraft. Team CIC, Alaina Kappner, continued her transition into the Piper J-3 Cub, a classic airplane which has been used as a trainer since the 1930s. CDT Mike Herbert trained in the Red-bird simulator, while Assistant OIC CW2 Mark Vester checked out in the Diamond DA-40 aircraft. The team will continue to train in preparation for our Regional competition which will be held at Schenectady County Airport, 13-17 OCT 16.
