Cadet Seamus Matlack, currently studying Persian for a semester in Tajikistan, started his volunteer work at an orphanage outside of the Tajik capital of Dushanbe. In addition to volunteering at the orphanage, Seamus teaches the children English as part of an effort to enroll them in a program run by the US Department of State titled “Future Leaders Exchange” where the students will study at an American high school during their senior year.
