WEST POINT, NY - Senior tri-captain Austin Schultz was selected as the Patriot League's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's lacrosse on Wednesday for his outstanding achievements in the classroom. The defenseman is a three-time member of the Patriot League All-Academic Team, including the 2016 team. He has a 3.62 grade point average as an economics major at the U.S. Military Academy and has numerous academic accolades. He has earned Distinguished Cadets honors three times and has been on the Dean's List for each of his seven terms at the academy. On the field, Schultz was selected to the All-Patriot League First Team for the third time in his career. He has posted career highs in ground balls with 21 and has posted a career best 15 caused turnovers.
