ASME 2013 Young Engineer Award:A technical review of Cadet Daniel Eichner’s paper entitled “Utilizing X-Ray Computed Tomography in Spray Nozzle Analysis” identified him as a finalist for the ASME 2013 Young Engineer Award. With conference and registration fees waived or covered by grants, Cadet Eichner  has been invited to present the work in a special session in San Diego during the premier Mechanical Engineering conference worldwide. Currently, Cadet Eichner  is working with the Stanford University Radiology and Mechanical Engineering Departments.

Summer AIAD at the Army Research LaboratoryCadet Matthew Ryan, also a member of “Team Spray,” works on the design of an experimental apparatus to electrostatically modify diesel fuel injection. Working with the Vehicle Technology Laboratory at the Army Research Lab, Cadet Ryan and Cadet Jon Tennis will compare traditional measurement results with the X-Ray CT results of Cadet Dan Eichner.

AIAD at NATO’s Civil Military Centre of Excellence (CCOE):  Six cadets were at the NATO Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Center of Excellence (CCOE) in Enschede, Netherlands to conduct training and explore topics for research projects which they will complete at West Point. Their work will be featured as research publications in the CCOE’s academic journal.

Center for Enhanced Performance (CEP):  The CEP Faculty conducted orientation briefs for the CBT companies on the Academic Excellence Program (AEP) and Performance Enhancement Program (PEP). New Cadets received information on the variety of courses and services offered by CEP to improve academic, military, and physical performance.
