Russian Students Participate in Spring Immersion to Uzbekistan

Eight cadets, Thomas Batina ’16, Curtis Gardner ’16, Rima Gasparini ’17, David Hill ’16, Ethan Lundgren ’16, Tim Naudet ’17, Andrew Ortega ’16 and Jacob Podpaly ’17 plus CPT Matthew Daigle participated in a Spring Immersion to Uzbekistan. This was the first time in nine years the USMA Cadets visited Uzbekistan. The Cadets visited Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara. While there, the Cadets experienced the culture of a populous former republic of the Soviet Union in the strategic crossroads of Central Asia and spoke Russian in a country where Russian remains important.
