The Army West Point Climbing club took six cadets to the Shawgunks Mountain Range in New Paltz, NY, to participate in a day of outdoor climbing. Upon arrival, the group set up various top-rope anchors including climbs CC Route, Phoebe, Fitchen’s Folly and Boston. Utilizing traditional climbing systems, placing gear and building anchors, CDTs Natalie Budner and Micah Gahagen completed a multi-pitch climb, and safely rappelled to the ground. Later on, the groups caught back up and set up some challenging routes on Top Rope including Squiggles, Squiggles Direct and Trashcan Overhang.
