Six members of the West Point Fly Fishing Club travelled south to Micco, FL, to seek out the abundance of salt water fish that swim in the waters surrounding the Sebastian Inlet on Florida’s Space Coast. The club could not ask for better weather, with most days in the mid 80’s, and the conditions perfect for catching a lot of fish. The cadets caught a variety of saltwater species including snook, lady fish, sea trout, puffer fish, jack crevale, blue fish, and mangrove snapper. The cadets were also able to take advantage of the host family’s pond, were they caught a few largemouth bass, brim and crappie as well. All of the cadets had a great time, and were able to learn some valuable new techniques on how to catch salt-water fish.
