Bares Named Field Athlete of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, PA - Sophomore Lee Bares was named the Field Athlete of the Week in the Patriot League's first week of action outdoors, it was announced by the league Monday afternoon. Bares won the pole vault in Army's first two competitions of the year at UC Irvine. Starting at the Anteater Four-Way on March 12, Bares topped the ten-man field with a mark of 5.20m, the fourth-best in the region thus far. The Lakeville, Minn., native continued that success the next week with his second individual championship at the Spring Break Invitational. Bares was recognized once in the indoor season with this honor on Jan. 11, which was joined with the ECAC Athlete of the Week on the 13th. Read More
