Army West Point Mountaineering Team travelled to Gravity Vault in Upper Saddle River, NJ, to compete for the second time in the Collegiate Climbing Series for 2016. The 18 competitors have been working very hard for the past five months to be a very competitive team; they have succeeded. CDT Julian Barker dominated the rope climbing and bouldering, coming 2nd and 4th respectively. CDT Brian Hazen came in 1st in speed climbing, followed closely by CDT Anthony Thompson who came in 4th. For the women’s team, CDT Lyra Kwak had a phenomenal day, placing 2nd for speed and 8th for rope climbing. During this competition, the entire team showed their strength and perseverance while also creating bonds with schools from all around the Northeast region including RIT, Rutgers, Yale, and UConn.
