This past weekend, the Army Alpine Ski team finished it’s competitive season by qualifying for and competing in the USCSA Regionals competition at Seven Springs Ski Resort, PA. A total of over sixty men and women competed in the Regionals. The men finished 10th out of 16 teams in Giant Slalom with CDTs Aryne Riley ’17 placing 30th; Gavin Felch ’19 placing 35th; and Patrick Kearney ’17 placing 48th. The women finished 12th overall as a team with CDTs Sophia Grohs ’19 placing 24th; Blaise Paulo ’18 placing 39th; and Maddie Nelson ’19 finishing 46th. Both the men and women did not have enough racers completing two Slalom runs to place in that event. The cadets enjoyed competing in their new conference (Atlantic Highlands) and look forward to being an even greater threat to their foe next season.
