WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point men's basketball senior center Kevin Ferguson has been honored with a number of awards after leading the Black Knights to wins over Navy and Holy Cross this past week. Ferguson claimed the Patriot League Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, the Army Athletic Association Co-Athlete of the Week award and was named the American Sports Network men's basketball player of the week.
Ferguson started the week with a career-high 25 points on a 12-of-16 shooting performance and pulled down 13 rebounds in a 72-68 victory against Holy Cross on Wednesday, before totaling 22 points and a career-best 19 rebounds in an 80-78 double-overtime victory at Navy. One of Ferguson's seven offensive boards came before he scored on a putback with 0.7 seconds left to lift the Black Knights to the win. For the week, Ferguson made 20-of-30 shots (66.7%) and averaged 23.5 points and 16.0 rebounds per contest. Ferguson has 14 double-doubles and 18 double-digit rebounding games in his career, and also has four straight and eight-career outings of 20 points or more.
